MHRA Delivery Plan

The MHRA has published its Delivery Plan for 2021-2023. Their focus is the platform of “putting patients first: A new era for our agency”. The goal of this delivery plan is to help ensure meaningful outcomes for patients, protecting public health through excellence in regulation and becoming a truly world-leading regulator.

Brexit saw MHRA removed from EU processes and their seat at the table to influence EU policies was therefore lost. New networks internationally must be built and established which MHRA are ambitious to do. The core criteria of quality, safety and efficacy remain for medicines and medical devices. There is within the document mention of “new” legislation and changes being considered and implemented so this is definitely one to keep a close eye on as the UK may well steer its own course from that of the EU.
